Thanks to Planet Aid's Partner Schools and Student Artists!

We greatly appreciate all the schools and student artists who helped make our first Earth Day Coloring Book Contest so successful. After all the artwork was submitted and all the votes cast and counted, 20 drawings were selected for the Planet Aid Scholar's Club first Earth Day Coloring Book, now available as a free PDF download.

This one-of-a-kind book, made for students by students, features Earth Day-themed art, including recycling and community, Earth, air, and water. The art book provides an opportunity to discuss environmental issues and the science, technology, engineering, and math being used to increase environmental sustainability.

Planet Aid School and Community Programs visited various schools for Earth Day art tutorials

"Our Earth Day Coloring Book Contest in April was a wonderful success!" said Planet Aid's School and Community Programs Manager, Christina Jones. "Engaging kids across our program through this activity was vital in teaching them about the importance of spreading the Earth Day message."

"Simply drawing a picture about helping the Earth can spark creativity and inspire new perspectives," Jones added. "Plus, it’s exciting for kids to see their contributions become part of a larger project. We’re thrilled to have had this opportunity to nurture young minds and promote environmental awareness in such a fun and impactful way!"

Winners

Twenty winning entries were selected to fill the pages of the coloring book.  The grand prize winner— sixth grader Dora Muñoz from Maryland—won the honor of having her art grace the front cover of Planet Aid's inaugural Scholar's Club  Earth Day Coloring Book.

Download a copy, or peruse the pages and be awed by these talented young artists.

Winning students received a one-year print subscription to National Geographic Magazine, and all participating students were entered into a raffle for a menu of prizes.

The Earth Day Coloring Book Contest inspired children from all over the U.S. to submit their entries to represent a certain aspect of the environment and sustainability. Most entries came from participating Planet Aid schools, but others entered the contest after seeing it promoted on our social media platforms.
