The recently-opened Planet Aid Donation Center received a stamp of support from Mayor Patrick Coogan, members of the One South Coast Chamber of Commerce, and other Fall River city officials on April 22, 2022.
Speaking on behalf of the city, Mayor Coogan stated that the facility was strategically placed for residents to easily donate gently-used clothing.
"We appreciate Planet Aid's help to the city and wish you success," he said, after formally conferring a mayoral citation to Planet Aid.
Michael O'Sullivan, co-chief executive officer of One South Coast Chamber, also expressed gratitude for Planet Aid's commitment and investment in the area.
Under blue skies and pitch-perfect spring weather, residents came out to support the grand opening with donations of gently-used clothing. The event was followed by a Planet Aid-hosted community barbeque.
The Donation Center, located at 495 Pleasant St, Fall River, MA 02721, is Planet Aid's first fully manned recycling center for clothing, shoes, and small household appliances. It is now open to the public at 10:00 am to 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday.
