Planet Aid staff will be busy this week helping businesses become more socially and environmentally responsible in Las Vegas and helping U.S. Federal Agencies effectively leverage foreign aid funding to implement sustainable community development programs in Washington, D.C.
Planet Aid will attend the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Conference at the Las Vegas Conference Center from May 21-23. The Corporate Sales Team will be at Booth 3300H in Central Hall to showcase Planet Aid's new donation centers that help businesses become more socially and environmentally responsible.
The donation centers allow shopping centers to serve as an accessible clothing donation drop-off spot for reuse and recycling. These 20' X 8' X 8' units are useful for commercial parking lots. One of its best features is its large size, making it more sustainable because it takes fewer pickups.
Conference participants can discuss how hosting these donation centers can create a new passive revenue stream for their business. The team also plans to share live updates on Instagram.
The same week, Planet Aid's International Partnership Team will attend the Society for International Development (SID) Conference, which is happening on Wednesday, May 24 at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC. The Partnership Team works with federal agencies like USAID, USAID/ASHA, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to secure funding to support projects like teacher training, Farmers Club, Transform Nutrition, and Total Control of the Epidemic.
This year's conference theme is Power Shift: Defining the Next Decade of Development. The 2023 conference seeks to examine the shifts across the field that are shaping the next decade and beyond. The programming will include sessions on health, climate change, refugees and migration, food insecurity, DEI, youth engagement, localization, and more.
Planet Aid's International Partnership Team will join over 80 organizations at the SID conference. Between panel discussions, they will be in the exhibition hall, displaying information about Planet Aid and the global development projects we support.
It will be a power-packed day full of opportunities to advocate and champion the tremendous international development work Planet Aid supports.
