In celebration of Planet Aid's first manned Donation Center and Earth Day, a spring barbeque with games and prizes will be held for residents of Fall River, Massachusetts on April 22, 2022 from 10 am to 5 pm.
If you are in the area, join us and be part of the growing green campaign by donating gently-used or unused clothing, shoes, and small appliances at 495 Pleasant St, Fall River, MA 02721.
The opening of the donation center is one of Planet Aid's numerous efforts to make more accessible collection points to minimize textile waste.
As a recipient of last year's development grant, which was awarded by the Baker-Polito administration and administered by MassDEP, Planet Aid has been steadily working to increase the amount of clothes collected and the efficiency of recycling processes with new upgrades to recycling equipment, as well as other resources.
This new venture will help Planet Aid be of more service to the state as it embarks on new textile recycling legislation that starts in November 2022, when disposal of certain textiles will be banned.
With the addition of a new donation center in Fall River, more options are available for reducing, reusing and recycling textiles. For more information, visit planetaid.org.
