Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority, Inc. celebrated Earth Day in a big way. The Zeta Theta Omega graduate chapter collected 3,000 pounds of donated clothes and shoes during their 3rd annual Spring Kleaning event on Saturday, April 22.
AKA sorors came out in full support, wearing their pink and green, as they gathered items at the Lawton Community Center in Akron, Ohio. Their festive pink tent and the Planet Aid yellow bin made it nearly impossible for donors to miss.
By all accounts, the Spring Kleaning event was a success, and the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha solidified their commitment to the environment with a new initiative. Members of the sorority planted two trees on the community center park grounds.
