Planet Aid is a tax-exempt nonprofit under IRS code 501(c)(3) (tax number: 04-3348171). The IRS allows deductions for the fair market value (how much an ordinary buyer would pay, not the original purchase price) of donated clothes. Used clothing donations must be in good condition or better to qualify for a deduction.
